日本宇宙开发事业团已开始研制 H-Ⅱ运载火箭。H-Ⅱ的第二级推进系统将通过改进 H-I 的第二级而研制成功。现正在考虑该级采用 LE-5发动机改进型。这种改进型将采用喷管膨胀排放循环工作方式,推力达12吨,有用推进剂重量可增加到14吨。热动力分析表明了非排放滑行的可行性。这对于地球同步轨道卫星发射任务特别有利。发动机的研制试验厚壁贮箱点火试验和飞行型贮箱点火试验将陆续进行,但其试验规模都要比 H-I 中 LE-5的小。
Japan’s Space Development Agency has begun to develop H-II launch vehicle. H-Ⅱ second-stage propulsion system will be developed by improving the second level of H-I. Now considering the level of LE-5 engine improvements. This improved version will use the nozzle expansion cycle work, thrust up to 12 tons, useful propellant weight can be increased to 14 tons. Thermodynamic analysis shows the feasibility of non-discharge taxiing. This is particularly advantageous for geostationary orbit satellite launching missions. Engine Development Test Thick-wall tank ignition test and pilot-operated tank ignition test will be carried out one after another, but the pilot scale than H-I LE-5 small.
