自从美国黑人文学由边缘到主流、1993年美国黑人小说家托妮·莫里森荣获诺贝尔文学奖之后,我国研究美国文学的学者与研究生掀起了对美国黑人作家(尤其是小说家)的研究高潮。每逢国内开美国文学研讨会,所报许多论文题目都与美国黑人作品有关。遗憾的是,目前国内这方面资料很不足,直到去年为止,连一本全面介绍美国黑人作家的参考书都没有出过,这些书甚至在美国也不多:不是出版太早,信息已陈旧,就是介绍的作家太少了。当然去年有所补充。贝尔教授更新了他1987年出版的《美国黑人小说及其传统》,已被译为中文,但由于包括的面太广,不可能更细致。值得庆贺的是,今年1月译林出版社出版了我国第一部全面介绍与评论20世纪美国黑人小说的专著,从而弥补了这个缺陷。这是北京外国语大
Since the Afro-American literature went from the fringe to the mainstream, after Toni Morrison of the Afro-American novelist won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993, scholars and postgraduates studying American literature set off a study of Afro-American writers (especially novelists) climax. During the domestic seminars on American literature, many of the papers reported were related to African American works. Unfortunately, at present, there is not enough information on this subject in our country.
