去年6月,梧州海关从货运渠道查获一批涉嫌走私出口的化石、钟乳石。这批珍贵文物为古脊椎动物化石,共计43箱653件,其中有远古时代的鱼龙、恐龙蛋、贵州龙化石及鳄鱼、犀牛头骨、龟、海百合化石等。为了保护和利用国家珍贵文物,避免所查扣的走私化石遇潮受损、风化变质,根据《中华人民共和国文物保护法》及有关规定,并请示南宁海关同意,梧州海关将这批在扣的珍贵文物移交给广西自然博物馆收藏。
