Objective To compare the differences between adult mosquitoes trapped by CO2 trapping lamp method and habitat mosquito capture method and to explore the roles of the two methods in monitoring adult mosquitoes. Methods From May to October in 2014, four kinds of habitats in the area of Shuangliu International Airport in Sichuan Province were surveyed by using the method of catching mosquito lamp with carbon dioxide and the method of capturing mosquitoes by habitat. Results A total of 225 adult mosquitoes were captured by the CO 2 trap lamp method, of which 214 were female, accounting for 95.11% of the total. Adult mosquitoes were captured by perched mosquito trap method, of which 282 were female, accounting for 87.58%. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the number of female mosquito among Culex pipiens pallens, three female mosquitoes of Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Aedes albopictus captured by the two methods. There was no significant difference between the two methods in the number of mosquitoes caught in airport accommodation area, terminal entry gate, and international freight area. However, there were significant differences in the numbers of mosquitoes caught in the office areas of WWTPs. From the capture of adult mosquito species point of view, the method of carbon dioxide trap mosquito did not capture harassment A mosquito, Anopheles sinensis and other local rare species. The mosquitoes monitored by the two monitoring methods showed the same trend of seasonal fluctuation. CONCLUSION: The CO 2 trap mosquito lamp method is more stable than the habitat mosquito capture method and is more suitable for monitoring. In the background investigation, a variety of methods should be used to cooperate with each other.
