CXCR7 [chemokine (CXC motif) receptor 7] is a recently discovered receptor for stromal cell derived factor 1 (SDF-1), which is encoded by the RDC1 gene and binds to CXCL11 and SDF-1 Its biological effects. CXCR7 is highly expressed on many tumor cell surfaces and plays an important role in tumorigenesis and progression, promoting the survival and growth of tumor cells, adhesion and invasion, tumor angiogenesis and cancer cell metastasis. Unlike other chemokine receptors, CXCR7 did not cause calcium influx and chemotactic response after binding to SDF-1, but rather by establishing a suitable gradient of chemokines that interacts with CXCR4 [chemokine (CXC motif) receptor 4] to work together. Tumor molecular therapy targeting CXCR7 is on the rise and is expected to provide a new approach to cancer therapy.
