The transformation of normal cells into tumor cells is not a simple one-step mutation process, but a series of evolving processes. The application of somatic cell hybridization technology helps in the genetic analysis of these processes. Due to the instability of chromosomes in hybrid cells, Studies of human-mouse interspecific hybridization and rodent intraspecific hybridization have presented difficulties, while intraspecific human somatic cell hybridization provided a stable system for the genetic analysis of transformation and neoplastic phenotypes. The authors used the HeLa cell derivative line. Normal human diploid fibroblasts were fused, and the majority of H/F hybrid cell clones selected by HAT selective media showed that neoplasticity was inhibited. These hybrid cells were inoculated into nude mice. Tumor formation. However, in vitro cultures occasionally occur from these non-tumorigenic hybrid clones.
