Chlorinated organic compounds are widely used in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry and agriculture and therefore can enter the environment in many ways. These organic contaminants in environmental water systems, although present in very small quantities, are sufficient to endanger human health and the environment. Of the 114 priority organic pollutants specified in the EPA’s Clean Water Act, about 55% are chlorine-containing organic compounds. Due to their wide variety and diverse sources, they exist in various forms and are subject to change. Therefore, the monitoring of the species and quantities of these substances is an important research topic in current environmental science. From the analytical chemistry point of view, the analysis of organic pollutants in the environment is actually a complex and systematic trace analysis.
