2004年8月10日英国发行了一套以《皇家艺术协会》为题的邮票,纪念该协会创立250周年。该协会初创时叫做“鼓励艺术、制造及商业活动协会”。在英国历史上,该协会曾组织过多次重大的展览,包括1760年的首届艺术展、1851年的大展览会、1852年的首届摄影展、1854年的教育展览、1951年的不列颠节。其中1851年“大展览会”上展出了工业产品,是第一次国际性的产品展览。1754年,威廉-希普莱在伦敦科文特花园的劳斯迈尔咖啡厅成立了英国皇家艺术协会。他是受都柏林的“改进畜牧业、制造业和其他实用艺术协会”
On August 10, 2004, Britain issued a stamp entitled “Royal Society of the Arts” to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Association. The association was first called “Encourage Association of Arts, Manufacturing and Business Activities.” In British history, the association has organized many major exhibitions, including the first art exhibition in 1760, the big exhibition in 1851, the first photography exhibition in 1852, the education exhibition in 1854, and the British festival in 1951. One of the 1851 “big exhibition” on display of industrial products, is the first international product exhibition. In 1754, William Shplay founded the Royal Society of the Arts at Rolls-Meyer Café, Covent Garden in London. He is influenced by Dublin’s “Better Livestock, Manufacturing and Other Practical Arts Association”
