作为近代的中国著名政治人物和新闻活动家,戴季陶亲自参与了不少报刊的创办、主持了许多报纸的笔政,在全国各大报刊上发表过许多时事言论与政论文章,指导过众多的报刊活动和拥有大量的报刊实践,因而具有丰富而深邃的新闻理论,但受“阶级斗争史观”的影响未曾引起新闻史学界的重视与研究。戴氏新闻编辑思想集中体现在:报纸性质及现今不发达原因;倡导民众多去读报;阅报讲究方法;文字宜用白话;注重文章趣味性。
