Like a flying car, the Internet of Things will eventually become a reality. As we imagine, we have IP-connected cars, not to mention IP-connected bathrooms, gardens, dog collars, shoes and more. Imagine we did not get IPv6 with 3.4 x 1038 specific IP addresses associated with the computer. To be sure, the Internet of Things is full of security holes. Most people who encode these “objects” may lack the safety training over most of the readers in this article. Not to mention threat model analysis attacks, they may never have heard of attack techniques such as cache overflow, DDoS or certificate theft. They just specialize in firmware design, allowing “objects” and “objects” to talk to each other.
