30余年来,特别是实施西部大开发战略以来,我们可以明显的看到,西部地区的经济成就令人瞩目,经济总量和人民生活水平都有大幅度的提升。但是,当前西部地区整体发展水平和东部、特别是沿海地区相比较,有着明显的差距。缩小东西部差距,减少西部地区贫困面,必须进一步加大西部地区,特别是西部民族地区的政策关怀,发挥比较优势,加快西部地区经济发展步伐,实现可持续跨越发展。 More than 30 years ago, especially since the implementation of the strategy for the great development of the western region, we can clearly see that the economic achievements in the western region have been remarkable. The total economic output and the people’s living standards have risen dramatically. However, there is a clear gap between the overall level of development in the western region and the eastern region, especially in the coastal areas. To narrow the gap between the east and the west and reduce poverty in the western region, we must further increase our policy support in the western region, especially in the ethnic minority areas in the western region, give play to their comparative advantages, accelerate the pace of economic development in the western region and achieve sustainable development by leaps and bounds.
