当今世界各个国家通常都只使用惟一的一种纸币,并由中央银行发行和控制。不过也存在例外,也存在着多个主权国家使用同一种纸币的情况。比如在欧盟大部分国家中通用的欧元、西非经济共同体的法郎,以及在19世纪的拉丁联盟名称不同但能在联盟内部自由流通的等值纸币等。一个主权国家也可以选择别国的纸币作为本国的法定流通纸币。例
All countries in the world today usually use only one type of banknote, which is issued and controlled by the Central Bank. However, there are exceptions. There are also cases where multiple sovereign countries use the same banknote. For example, the Euro, which is common in most of the European Union, the Franc of the West African Economic Community, and the equivalent banknotes that have different names in the Latin Union in the 19th century but can freely circulate within the Union.
