佛开高速公路是国家“两纵两横”交通发展战略的重要组成部分,也是广东省乃至全国采用股份制修建的第一条高速公路。它北接广佛高速公路,西南与正在建设的开阳高速公路相连,途经佛山、南海、顺德、鹤山、江门、新会等六市,全长80公里。1996年12月8日,佛开高速公路全线竣工通车,极大地缓解了珠江三角洲的交通压力,被誉为促进沿线乃至粤西地区经济发展的“腾飞之路”。佛开高速公路有限公司成立于1996年3月,负责佛开高速公路的收费管理,下辖10个收费站和1个路政大队,共有员工近700人,其中35岁以下的青年人占86%,团员占职工总人数的55%。为管理好佛开高速公路,保证公司两个文明建设同步发展,公司根据青年人占绝大多数的实际情况,开展了创建
