Previous studies have found that the cellular poly (C) binding protein 2 (PCBP2) can down-regulate the gene expression of the vesicular stomatitis virus. Authors’ studies have shown that vesicular stomatitis virus infection can induce the formation of granular structures in the cytoplasm of cell-containing RNA-binding proteins, including PCBP2, T cell-restricted intracellular antigen 1 (TIA1), and TIA1-associated protein (TIAR ). The growth and gene expression of vesicular stomatitis virus is enhanced by the deletion of TIA1 by small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) rather than TIAR deletion.
