等电位联结是将建筑物中各电气装置和其它装置外露的金属及可导电部分、人工或自然接地体用导体连接起来,以达到减少电位差的目的。等电位系统是作为安全(接地或等电位)目的采用的一种方法,简单说就是把处于危险区域内的正常时不应带电的金属物体或部件全部用电气方式进行连通,使它们处于一个相同的电位(接地或不接地)。等电位联结包括总等电位联结(MEB)、局部等电位联结(LEB)和辅助等电位联结(SEB)。
