如果说胉类是生物体的主要本质,那么核(园)酸类(nucleic acids)就是胉类的设计图——我们所谓生物体中显现生命秘密的分子.在每个活细胞中都有核(园)酸类.根据我们现代的研究资料来看,核(园)酸掌握胉类的制造,同时又掌握所有生物体中遗传素质.核(园)酸类与胉类同是高分子聚合体,不过它们是一些不同的聚合体.假如我们要想对它们的结构与性能有一些认识,就要对它们在大自然中怎样构成每种有生命的机体这个问题加以研究.作者在本交中拟将有关核(园)酸类的研究,发表一些私见.世人虽然对于核(园)酸类已作了许多研究,但对某些观点大家自然还会有一些不同的看法.作者认为应该制订一个通用的理论,而可适用于多数已知的事实,并且在实际工作上也是一个能够适用的假就.
