普林斯顿(Priliceton)大学教授阿瑟·路易斯(W.Arthur Lewis),是第一位因研究第三世界经济而获得诺贝尔经济学奖金者。他对经济发展,贡献甚多。主要著作有:《经济成长论(The Theory of Economic Growth)》、《开发计划(Development Planning)》,和《国际经济秩序的演变(The Evolution of the International Economic Order)》等。本刊编委、普林斯顿大学经济教授邹至荘(Gregory Chow)和哥伦比亚大学经济学教授王念祖一同访问了路易斯。邹至荘教授系普林斯顿大学计量经济研究室主任,与路易斯同事。王念祖教授与路易斯教授相识于伦敦政治经济学院,并曾一同在联合国任职。现由王念祖教授将访问录音整理如下,以飨读者。
W. Arthur Lewis, a professor at Priliceton University, was the first to receive a Nobel prize in economics for studying the Third World economy. He contributed a lot to economic development. Major works include: “The Theory of Economic Growth”, “Development Planning (Development Planning)”, and “Evolution of the International Economic Order” (The Evolution of the International Economic Order). Our editorial board, Princeton economics professor Gregory Chow, and Columbia University economics professor Wang Nianzu visited Louis. Professor Zou Zhiyi is the director of econometrics research department of Princeton University and colleague Louis. Professor Wang Nian-ju and Professor Louis met at the London School of Economics and Political Science and worked together at the United Nations.
