Objective To explore the possible role of T helper cell subsets Th1 and Th2 in local lesions of OLP patients. Methods 43 OLP patients and 13 healthy volunteers were recruited. Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of T-bet and GATA3, the transcription factors of Th1 and Th2 in CD4 + T lymphocyte subsets in diseased tissues. Results The expression of transcription factor T-bet in OLP tissues was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa, and both were closely related to the clinical classification of OLP. By analyzing the ratio of T-bet to GATA3, the ratio of T-bet / GATA3 in OLP tissues was significantly higher than that in control group, and the difference between OLP group and control group was statistically significant. Conclusion Th1 cells are involved in the local immune response to OLP. Th1 / Th2 cells are predominantly imbalanced by Th1 cells during the pathogenesis of OLP.
