3081是IBM用LSI工艺首次组装成的大型计算机系统。由于使用大规模集成电路,电路组装密度大大提高,在90毫米见方的外壳中组装大约4万多个电路。为克服高密度组装而带来的不可直接观察、可分性差、功耗密度大等不利因素,又要不降低计算机系统的可维护性和可用性,简化操作和维护工作,所以在3081机组中设置了3082主机控制器。
3081 is IBM’s first large-scale computer system assembled with LSI technology. Thanks to the use of large scale integrated circuits, the assembly density of the circuit is greatly increased, assembling approximately 40,000 circuits in a 90 mm square housing. In order to overcome the unfavorable factors such as direct observation, poor separability and high power density caused by high-density assembly, and also to simplify the operation and maintenance of the computer system without reducing the maintainability and usability of the computer system, setting in the 3081 unit 3082 host controller.
