From the perspective of poetry, Platonic ontology and literary thoughts such as “imitation theory ” “inspiration theory ” about artistic creation have a profound impact on later Western poetics. The romantic poet Shelley of the nineteenth century was deeply influenced by his ideas, and the poet exiled from Plato turned out to be the true heir to his spiritual heritage. The article will look at Shelley’s poetic creation theory and practice to find Plato’s vision of the light.
