白马雪山国家级自然保护区位于青藏高原南延部分的云岭山脉北端,行政上隶属于迪庆藏族自治州德钦县,北面与西藏自治区芒康县接壤,东面隔金沙江与四川省德荣县相望,南与维西县犬牙交错,西与云南第一峰——卡瓦格博峰遥相呼应。保护区总面积为190144公顷,占全县土地总面积的25.7％,在我省4个国家级保护区中,其面积仅次于西双版纳而位居第二。它是我县森林资源的主要集中地之一。保护区有林地面积为77541公顷,占全县有林地面积的28.5％;森林覆盖率为40.8％;活立木蓄积量为1600万立方米左右,占全县活立木蓄积总量的40％左右。整个保护区以人支、白马、格里、甲午4座雪山主峰为骨架,区内超过5000米的山峰有20多座。保护区主峰扎拉雀尼最高海拔为
Baima Snow Mountain National Nature Reserve is located in the southern extension of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau north end of the Yunling Mountains, administratively under the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Deqin County, north of the Tibet Autonomous Region Mangkang County bordering the east Jinsha River and Sichuan Province Derong County Across the South and Weixi County Fangsoujiaocuo, West and Yunnan’s first peak - Kawar Bogs echoes.
