In August 1997, I read a newspaper in Guangzhou and said that 90% of the batteries in the Guangzhou mobile phone market are fake. At the time, I was still sighing that Beijing’s management of the wireless communications market was relatively standardized and that there were far fewer fakes than in Guangzhou. However, according to the latest report, apart from Beijing Telecom and China Unicom’s business offices, about 90% of mobile phone stores in Beijing currently operate more or less parallel goods or even counterfeit goods. Some of them are old machines that are refurbished and some are battery-operated. There is also a myriad of tricks and tricks, as well as the use of expired or phony licenses posted on mobile phones to impersonate consumers.
