以组合波导理论为基础,分析了1480/1550nm波分复用器的耦合区横截面形状和尺寸与偏振灵敏度的关系。着重比较了矩形截面和椭圆形截面二种波分复用器的偏振性能,并发现当椭圆截面的短轴与长轴之比为1:1.88时,器件性能几乎与偏振无关。研制成功的1480/1550nm波分复用器的波长隔离度大于20dB.偏振灵敏度小于0.1dB.附加损耗小于0.5dB。
Based on the combined waveguide theory, the relationship between the cross-sectional shape and size of the coupling region and the polarization sensitivity of the 1480/1550 nm wavelength division multiplexer is analyzed. The polarization performance of two kinds of WDMs with rectangular cross section and elliptical cross section is emphatically compared. When the ratio of the short axis to the long axis of the elliptical section is 1: 1.88, the performance of the device is almost independent of the polarization. Developed 1480 / 1550nm wavelength division multiplexer wavelength isolation greater than 20dB. Polarization sensitivity is less than 0.1dB. Additional loss is less than 0.5dB.
