人们应用光学显微镜来观察、分析金属材料的显微组织已有一百多年的历史了。在生产、使用和发展金属材料的长期实践中,人们利用金相显微镜作为一种有效的检验分析工具,逐步地揭示金属材料的显微组织与其性能之间的关系,这就有助于从材料的内因来说明其变化的规律,使认识得到深化而上升为金属材料科学的理论,并进一步应用到研制新材料和发展新工艺的实践中去。因此,金相显微分析已经成为金属材料研究的基本方法,今后仍将继续发挥巨大的作用。
