通过工程类比、建坝岩体力学性质研究成果分析、趾板区岩体声波测试、岩体变形试验以及岩体质量评价等多种方法对趾板建基岩体性状进行综合分析,确定了水布垭面板堆石坝趾板可利用建基面标准。提出了以硬岩声波波速3.8 km/s,相对软岩声波波速3.2 km/s作为建基面验收标准,并以弱卸荷带岩体作为水布垭面板堆石坝趾板建基面。
