Through-the-bucket structure is one of the common styles of folk wood-framed buildings in southern China in ancient times, especially prevailing in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the “As old as the old” of the former house of Ascea, the designer intends to incorporate the concept of “wearing a bucket-like structure” into the decorative details of the façade. In the renovation of Du Fu Thatched Cottage, architects to wear bucket-type structure restore “poetic history ” residence. As a typical representative of the traditional buildings in Sichuan and Chongqing, the integration of piercings and structural elements in the reconstruction of the former celebrities is a useful practice of pursuing history.
