在耶鲁解构批评家眼中,文学并无本质,文学这一文类也不是实在之物或自在之物。然而,解构批评家从未声称文学不存在,他们绝非主张一种虚无主义的文学观。解构批评要么将文学看作是关于虚无,而非本身虚无;要么视一部文学作品为一个虚构的世界,这个虚构世界之所以能够让读者甘愿相信、沉浸其中,乃是由于文学述行的力量;又或者,将文学虚构视作孤独可以提供的最大乐趣,它令读者经历一种非此绝无可能的情境与经验,从而遇到自我的“他性”。
In the eyes of deconstructionist critics in Yale, literature has no essence, nor does the genre of literature be real or comfortable. However, deconstruction critics have never claimed that literature does not exist and they are by no means advocating an nihilistic view of literature. Deconstruction and criticism either treats literature as nothingness, rather than its own nothingness; or as a literary work is a fictional world, the fictional world has been able to make readers willing to believe, immersive, but because of the power of literature Or, seeing literary fiction as the greatest pleasure that loneliness can offer, allows the reader to experience a situation and experience that is beyond all probability and thus encounter one’s self.
