20世纪初,秉承了汉唐经学传统的日本京都学派面对欧美汉学、罗振玉和王国维、东京学派的三重研究压力,也开始了他们的戏曲研究摸索之旅。京都学派经过前后三代学者狩野直喜、青木正儿、吉川幸次郎的努力,形成了各自风格迥异,但却具有统一特质的戏曲研究流派。
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Japanese Kyoto School, which inherited the tradition of Han and Tang Dynasties, faced with the triple research pressures of European and American Sinology, Luo Zhenyu and Wang Guowei and the Tokyo School, and began the journey of exploration of their opera studies. Through the efforts of three generations of scholars such as Kano Matsunaga, Aoki Masato and Yoshikuni Kikujiro, the Kyoto School formed a school of traditional Chinese drama with different styles but unified characteristics.
