TC4合金(Ti-6A1-4V)被称为国际航空的合金,现已在医学界得到推广和应用,它适用作外科移植手术的材料,如膝关节、髋关节、肩关节、肘关节、腕关节等。TC4具有较好的生物相容性:良好的生物组织适合性,化学稳定性及对有机体液的抗腐蚀性等。TC4强度高,塑性好,重量轻,弹性模最低,并有优异的抗疲劳和抗裂纹扩展能力。TC4缺点是耐磨性差。五十年代以来英国医学界广泛采用钛合金人工植入件。七十年代美国钛合金植入件发展很快。我国自1974年以来开展了各种钛合金人工关节研制工作,取得成功。
