（续上期）1974年,第七届世界男篮锦标赛在波多黎各举行,这一年一共有14支球队参加,卫冕的南斯拉夫与地主波多黎各直接晋级八强,其余的12支球队,预赛分为三组,取前两名晋级;A组由前苏联与巴西晋级,B组是美国、西班牙,C组则是古巴与加拿大。 这一届比赛用当诡异,尤其在1972年慕尼黑奥运的悬案之后,美、苏两强的对决格外引人瞩目。但是美国似乎并不重视世界锦标赛,派出了美国史上最年轻的球队前往波多黎各,阵中年纪最大的是只有22岁的专科学院生威尔肯斯,而且有三人未满二十岁,平均年龄只有20岁,只有三名球员具有国际比赛经验。
(Continued) In 1974, the Seventh World Basketball Championships held in Puerto Rico, a total of 14 teams to participate this year, the defending Yugoslavia and landowners Puerto Rico directly qualify for the quarterfinals, the remaining 12 teams, the preliminaries are divided into Three groups, the first two qualifications; A group by the former Soviet Union and Brazil cut, B group is the United States, Spain, C group is Cuba and Canada. This session of the game used to be weird, especially in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich after the pending case, the United States and the Soviet Union’s two-strong showdown attracted the most attention. However, the United States does not seem to value the World Championships. It sent the youngest team to Puerto Rico in the history of the United States. The youngest is the only 22-year-old college student Wilkens, and three are under 20, with an average age of only 20 years old, only three players have international competition experience.
