两年来交通建设工作,由于党和人民政府的正确领导,广大人民的热烈参加,全体职工的努力,做了不少的工作,并获得了一定的成绩,这些成绩是在抗美援朝、土地改革、镇压反革命、「三反」、「五反」等一系列伟大的社会改革运动胜利基础上取得的。经过建立机构,熟悉业务,恢复交通之后,依据「增加生产,历行节约,以支持中国人民志愿军」的总方针,进入重点建设公路与邮电线路,并加强运输事业的发展。两年来在基建工程方面:修筑较大桥涵二九八座(小工程未计在内),开辟驿道六四○华里。改建路基一○六公里,铺筑路面六十公里。保持了主要交通路线的畅通无阻。邮电建设方面:加设国防线路三二二公里,并为了配合土地改革,架高电线一、二○三公里,整修旧线三○八公里。乡邮机构增设 In the past two years, the traffic construction work has done a great deal due to the correct leadership of the party and the people’s government, the enthusiastic participation of the broad masses of people and the efforts of all the staff and workers.
