在有关主语宾语问题的讨论中,王了一先生建议先解决主语问题。他说,“主语解决了,宾语问题也跟着解决了”①。这办法值得商榷。就意义上的施受关系说,在有宾语出现的句子里,主语和宾语系于动词的两端②,抛开任何一端而单独地考虑另一端,都不容易得到满意的结果。实际上,主语宾语中最让人伤脑筋的也就是不能妥善地、概括地同时解决两者之间的关系。如果只从主语着眼丢开宾语不管,或者只从宾语着眼而丢开主语不管,问题是可以暂时解决的。可是涉及到另一端时,矛盾势必要重新出现。王先生这次论述主语问题的文章里就有这种缺点。王先生先给主语下了一个定义:主语“指称事物,谓词所指称的行
