A multifunction ECG preamplifier with a 50 Hz notch, electrode drop alarm, and pacing spike suppression that is particularly suitable for portable devices is presented. The amplifier uses only three 8-pin IC chips. The entire amplifier consumes less than 1.4mA/+5V.
