Studying the pulse height distribution of a single primary electron in a proportional counter tube is not only important for the research detector itself, but also has many other important applications. This work can help us understand the detection mechanism of proportional counter tube, simply study the fluctuations of the gas amplification factor in the proportional tube of charge. It is noteworthy that this work has become a newly developed highly sensitive detection technology in recent years - resonance ionization spectroscopy combined with proportional counter to detect an integral part of a single atom. Some researchers believe that the pulse height distribution of a single primary electron in a proportional counter tube has the shape of a simple exponential decay curve, while others have shown that the pulse height distribution curve of a single electron has a peak structure.
