In the teaching of Chinese in middle schools, influenced by traditional concepts, “theme theory” still occupies an important position in Chinese language teaching. Teachers can’t separate topics from time to time when analyzing the articles. They always link the language and theme in the article, and even sum up the profound theme as the end goal of their own teaching. The so-called theme is always expressed in the form of a solidified conceptualization of “... through... ...”. In composition teaching, the role of the theme is often inappropriately emphasized.
