“A Streetcar Named Desire” revealed the tragedy of Blanche and revealed the poisoning of women in South American plantation culture, especially the patriarchal culture. In the play, compatriotic sisters Blanche and Stella each chose a different path of life in the intense conflicts between North and South cultures. However, the deep-rooted patriarchal system in American society did not give the two sisters the space to survive. They pin their hopes of survival on men, and in the end they can not escape the tragic fate of the victims of the patriarchal system.
