1644年的中国,正是明清交替。历史舞台上有三位主角:明朝皇帝朱由检、农民起义军闯王李自成、清朝的摄政王多尔衮,或许还应加上一位,明朝的辽东总兵吴三桂。其实,还有一位主角一直为人们忽略——小老鼠。1644年,农历3月15日,闯王李自成率大顺军抵达北京城北郊的居庸关。这里是北京城的最后一道天险,然而关隘却无人防守,明朝总兵唐通出降。接下来发生的事,人人皆知:李自成的队伍势如破竹,在3月18日攻破北京城,朱由检吊死在景山一棵老槐树上。
