Dopamine-β-hydroxylase (DβH) is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of catecholaminergic pathway. It catalyzes the hydroxylation of β-position of dopamine to norepinephrine and plays an important role in the nerve conduction of adrenergic nervous system. DβH is present in brain tissue, adrenal medullary chromaffin cells and sympathetic postganglionic fibers containing catecholaminergic particles and is associated with catecholamines in the spillover of adrenal medulla cells and sympathetic excitation
