Rapid manufacturing of six major equipment was the main task of the machinery industry in 1959. To accomplish this task, a series of problems must be solved. The production of large castings and forgings is the main problem that must be solved at present. To solve this problem, in addition to actively exerting the old factory’s productivity, we must also expect the newly built casting and forging shop to be put into production as soon as possible. Here, based on what individuals have seen in places like Wuhan, we have put forward some immature opinions on the construction of the cast-forging center, for reference by relevant parties. 1. It is necessary to focus on the hydraulic press workshop and grasp the complete set of workshop items. There is a series of workshop projects that are needed to put hydraulic presses into production. The lack of success is one aspect of the matter. On the other hand, we must seek truth from facts and proceed from reality, that is, according to the supply of materials and equipment, we should consider the construction of phases, from small to large, and gradually develop. When the hydraulic press is put into production, if the steel ingot is supplied by an outside plant, the problem is relatively simple.
