列车转弯运行时所需通道宽度是评价列车机动性的一个重要指标。对同一列车,转向操纵不同,其转向运行时所需通道宽度也不同。因此,当列车转向操纵系统按某一特定规律变化控制列车转向时,可使其运行时所需通道宽度达到最小。在列车不失去控制的前提下,对一定弯道半径的公路,列车作所需通道宽度(也称最大通道宽度)最窄的转向运行过程,我们称之为“最佳转向运行”。这种运行过程中扫过空间宽度最大处为一列车转向的稳定阶段,即由传统的静态法决定的所谓“极限通过位置”运行状态,它的各转向运行参数可通过这种运行状态的“环行图”(图1)由
