光是能量的一种传播方式,它是由一种叫光子的基本粒子组成。光有时候是指所有的电磁波,人类肉眼所能看到的可见光只是整个电磁波谱的一部分。光传播路径遇到光滑的物体会产生反射与折射的现象。从日出的光辉、落日的红焰、彩虹的绚丽色彩到天空中闪烁的星光,都可以用波来描述。今天我们已认识到电视天线、红外线、可见光、紫外线、X射线、微波和γ射线都只不过是麦克斯韦波,即振动的法拉第力场。光可以在真空、空气、水等透明的介质中传播。
