1997年12月2日至11日,应文化部艺术局邀请,福建省文化厅在北京举办了’97福建剧展。这是建国以来闽省在京举办的最大规模的文化活动。五百多位福建戏剧工作者在剧展期间联袂向首都公众献演了大型历史话剧《沧海争流》、闽剧《凤凰蛋》、高甲戏《金魁星》、芗剧《保婴记》和现代闽西汉剧《俏俏嫂》等五部新作,激起了首都观众、有关领导和戏剧界专家的极大兴趣,贾庆林、王国兆等党和国家领导同志观看了剧展,陈明义、贺国强、石兆彬等省领导亲切会见了部分演职人员。文化部艺术局为每部剧作分别召开了研讨座谈会,首都戏剧界不少专家学者在各次研讨会上发表了许多深刻而中肯的意见。 为了从整体上更好地观照福建戏剧创作的格局与走势,促进福建戏剧艺术的全面繁荣,12月12日,福建省文化厅在人民大会堂召开“福建戏剧创作座谈会”。60多位首都戏剧界专家和福建戏剧工作者聚会一堂,放言畅谈,纵论福建戏剧创作态势。座谈会由文化部艺术局副局长姚欣主持,福建省文化厅厅长吴凤章首先在会上介绍了福建省实施“精品战略”暨近期文化工作的概况,接着,首都多位戏剧家在会上竞相发言。其辞如鉴,可以使人反观到福建戏剧艺术的强弱之处。本刊谨将诸位方家的发言要点披露于此,以利于福建戏剧艺术家汲纳真知,推进事业。

The symposium was presided over by Yao Xin, deputy director of the Arts Bureau of the Ministry of Culture. Director Wu Fengzhang of Fujian Provincial Department of Culture first introduced the outline of Fujian’s implementation of the “boutique strategy” and recent cultural work.
