In his novels vividly reflects the disillusionment of the “American Dream” in the 1920s, which shows the spirit of a desolate society. Since the 18th century, Americans began to believe in the existence of the “American dream,” believing that their strength and determination can create miracles in life simply by persisting in their efforts. The existence of such a “American dream” has always inspired the people. However, the “American Dream” has gradually been distorted and has become a bubble under the impact of reality, which has dealt a heavy blow to the Americans. Therefore, the “American Dream” has gradually evolved into an illusory “Fortune dream”. This article mainly reflects the essence of “American Dream ” through “American Dream ” in Fitzgerald’s novels.
