小菜蛾是我市郊区冬植菜心、芥蓝、椰菜的主要害虫。影响产量和质量。农民为了防治小菜蛾使用了残毒期较长的甲胺磷,招致了人畜中毒事故。为解决防治小菜蛾问题,1989年引入了美国杜邦公司生产的24％万灵水剂,经小区试验和大田防治示范。在江门市郊用24％万灵水1000倍和1500倍防治小菜蛾,示范面积30多亩,取得了十分理想的防治效果:
