抗战爆发前,南京是全国的文化学术中心和知识分子的聚集地。日军攻城的炮火一夜之间使南京成为“文化沙漠”。汪伪建政后,在南京建立了若干高等教育和学术研究机构,并取得了一些学术成果。知识分子群体也重新在南京出现,并形成了短暂的结社热潮。但这些都打上了很深的殖民文化的烙印。汪伪政权后期,日伪加强了对文化思想的控制。此外,由于沦陷区经济状况的恶化和伪政权的内部矛盾,汪伪在南京“恢复”中央研究院的计划流产,标志着日伪主导的学术文化的衰落。
Prior to the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Nanjing was the site of the cultural and academic center and intellectual gathering in the country. The siege of Japanese artillery overnight made Nanjing a “cultural desert.” Wang pseudo-political establishment in Nanjing, established a number of higher education and academic research institutions, and made some academic achievements. The intelligentsia also re-emerged in Nanjing and formed a short-lived wave of association. But these are marked with a deep colonial culture. In the latter part of the puppet regime, Japan and the Pupil stepped up their control over cultural thoughts. In addition, due to the deteriorating economic conditions in the enemy-occupied areas and the internal conflicts of the pseudo-regime, Wang pseudo-planned abortion at the Academia Sinica in Nanjing “restored” marks the decline of the academic culture dominated by Japan and the Puppet Party.
