From February 1980 to February 1981, Toxorhynchites amboinensis was introduced in two areas of Fiji, in which 1,717 and 400 female mosquitoes were released from Wailoka and Yanuca islands, respectively, and at the same time, iron Cans and tires to monitor changes in the population of giant mosquitoes and Aedes larvae.
