“Yan! Yah!”Somebodywas calling out myname.I blinked openmy eyes,fumbled around thebed-side table for the digital clock:2am! Not a sound was heard in thestillness of night.Gosh,must havebeen dreaming! I turned around andwas about to slump back on my bedwhen I heard my name called again,“Yan!”I was wide awake then—itwas my 73-year old landlady! Whatcould be wrong? Heart pounding,Ijumped out of bed and rushed acrossthe hallway to her bedroom.
