X-ray production cross section can provide important information for studying atomic properties and the collision mechanism of heavy ions with solid targets and are highly required for the quantitative analysis of Particle Induced X-ray Emission[1]. K-shell X-ray emission from V, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn induced by high energy C ion bombarding was investigated at the Cancer Therapy Terminal of the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL). X-ray production cross section can provide important information for studying atomic properties and the collision mechanism of heavy ions with solid targets and are highly required for the quantitative analysis of Particle Induced X-ray Emission [1].
