Permeability of pavement brick pavement structure is to prevent surface runoff, reduce the risk of urban floods and improve the degree of rain purification, a long-lasting, ecological engineering solutions. In Belgium, the application of such pavement structure is more and more extensive. Relevant departments have formulated the pavement hydrological design guideline, which has determined the standard pavement structure for pavement with different traffic flow and soil characteristics. Through legislation, promote the promotion and application of such pavement structure, the relevant laws and regulations of the water-permeable pavement as a water storage system and infiltration system. In order to improve the pavement structure system and enhance its long-term reliability during use, several pavement bricks pervious pavements were monitored and analyzed on a long-term basis. Despite the monitoring data obtained, the overall results show that the water-permeable pavement still has good water-permeable ability, but also found some limitations and some road damage. This phenomenon of damage is related to the choice of the pavement structure, the type of construction materials, and the quality of the construction. This article presents some basic rules for choosing a monitoring research project. It gives a summary of the various applications of permeable pavement in Belgium. The measurements show the good performance and long-term permeability of these pavements. Provide the monitoring data of newly completed pavement works and test data of permeable pavement after nearly 15 years of use; compare and analyze the pavement water permeability data. Finally, from the perspective of sustainable urban drainage management, we emphasize the distinction between “done” and “not done” permeable pavement, and discuss the promotion and application of pervious pavement through legislation.
