China Taiwan’s Lianhua Electronics Group announced that it will invest US$3.6 billion to set up a 12-inch IC manufacturing plant in Singapore’s Pasir Ris Integrated Circuit Industrial Park. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases. The ground broke in the first quarter of 2001. The first phase of equipment installation in the third quarter. This is a joint venture between Taiwan Lianhua Electronics Group and Germany Yiheng Technology Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
